26in. nitro barrels with tapered ventilated matt top-rib, the over barrel engraved 'MADE FOR JOHN POWELL GUNMAKER REIGATE', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, hold-open toplever, top tang gold-inlaid '4', manual safety with gold-inlaid 'S' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, non-selective single trigger, rolled-edge triggerguard, the action and furniture engraved with fine flowing acanthus scrollwork, the lockplates engraved with game scenes of partridge and duck and signed 'CASBARD', the underside with alighting pheasants and with a scrolled banner engraved 'MADE FOR JOHN POWELL GUNMAKER ENGLAND', the action bar signed 'ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI', the triggerplate signed 'INGLESE GOLDANI INC.', bright and blued finish, 14 3/8in. well-figured stock, the fore-end with sliding ornate white metal A & S crest forming the release catch, weight 6lb. 3oz., in a brass-cornered leather case, minor distortion to case lid
