hallmarked Birmingham 1782, with banded turn-off 2 3/8in. barrel (frozen), private proofs at breech, border engraved squared boxlock central hammer action signed in banners on the left 'ARCHER' and the right 'LONDON', smooth walnut butt with bulbous pommel fitted with a silver grotesque mask cap, possibly maker-marked 'CF' for Charles Freeth and sliding trigger bow safe, the whole an older re-black, overall length 8in., weight approximately 5/8lbs.
