A RARE CASED .177 & .22 COLCHESTER WEAPONS WORKSHOP GAMEKEEPER TAKE-DOWN AIR-RIFLE, serial no. 00021,
circa 1989, with blued 15in. interchangeable barrels threaded for a sound moderator (absent, missing barrel securing nut), blued slab-sided receiver with twist-open bolt action loading, the right hand side deeply stamped 'THE GAMEKEEPER', removable abs plastic butt-stock with hard plastic heel-plate, stippled abs plastic pistol-grip and detachable under-barrel air cylinder, complete with an abs plastic and aluminium Doskocil transit case, filling adaptor, spare air-reservoir, Kassnar Rubydot sight and paperwork relating to the rifle, appearing little used (untested)
Provenance: This rare air-rifle was produced in very low numbers by the Colchester Weapons Workshop Ltd between 1989 and 1992, with the majority being plastic stocked standard versions. Production and reliability problems led to the manufacture being taken over by Providence Arms Co. in 1992. Paperwork supplied by the vendor states that this rifle was originally serial no. 00023 but mysteriously changed to 00021 whilst being serviced! Most of the examples subsequently manufactured (believed less than 50) were sold as 'Beeman Gamekeepers' in the US. The company was wound up in 1997
