A RARE 10-BORE PERCUSSION REVOLVING SHOTGUN, MODEL '1855 SHOTGUN', serial no. 925,
circa 1862, with octagonal to round 27in. barrel, bead fore-sight, sighting grooved top-strap signed 'COL. COLT HARTFORD CT. USA', fully fluted cylinder, solid iron frame with side-hammer, iron top-tang, iron trigger-guard (not marked with the calibre) and lower tang, chequered walnut butt-stock with spurred iron heel-plate and under-barrel loading lever semi-concealed under the walnut fore-end with moulded brass tip and also with brass tipped auxiliary ramrod, older refinish throughout.
Provenance: Colt revolving shotguns were produced in both 20-bore and 10-bore and numbered within their own serial range. A total of only 1100 were produced
