A PERCUSSION IRON BARRELLED BLUNDERBUSS, no visible serial number, circa 1840, with 19 1/2in two stage octagonal to round barrel with large flared muzzle, originally fitted with a spring or flick bayonet which is now missing, foliate engraved action tang with the bayonet release mechanism in place, foliate engraved back-action lock and the cock engraved to match, iron mounted full walnut stock with chequered wrist, the butt-plate tang and trigger-guard both scroll engraved the forend fitted with two iron rammer pipes. The stock has been cleaned and varnished over, complete with rod.
