circa 1780, with octagonal to sixteen-sided to round 13in. barrel, moulded bands at the intersections and an engraved band at breech, the top left side flat marked with private proofs, two-stage trumpet muzzle, solid border engraved iron tang, slightly curved flat bevel-edged borderline engraved iron lock with pointed tail and signed 'WHEELER' in script below the pan, borderline engraved cock and frizzen, replacement full-stock, brass furniture including border engraved spur to heel-plate, stepped sideplate and original horn-tipped ramrod
