AN UNUSUAL MODIFIED SMITH & WESSON .45(L/C) MKII HAND-EJECTOR REVOLVER, serial no. 3742, modified to Sykes and Fairbairn's specification from their time in the Shanghai police, with shortened 3 1/2in. barrel fitted with a ramp fore-sight, solid frame with fluted swing-out cylinder, bobbed hammer, the front of the trigger guard cut away and a broad trigger shoe fitted, single action removed and walnut chequered grips with reprofiled heel, together with a further pair of smooth walnut grips
Provenance: This revolver is reputedly Captain W.E. Fairbairn's actual revolver, but this statement cannot be confirmed. See also Lot 7520.
