A .303 (BRIT.) 'SHT. LE. MK.V' BOLT-MAGAZINE SERVICE RIFLE, serial no. 3009,
dated 1922, 25in. nitro reproved barrel (in 2024), block-mounted blade fore-sight, the muzzle-cap with built-in fore-sight protector, original rear-sights removed, later Parker's 'plus 5' folding aperture sight fitted to left of action body, the right marked with 'GR' cypher and 'ENFIELD 1922. SHT. LE. V', magazine cut-off, grooved manual safety catch marked 'V', detachable magazine, full-length stock with two-piece full-length handguard, additional band to rear of nose-cap, 12 3/4in. pull including brass buttplate with central trapdoor (with oil bottle), weight 9lb. 5oz.

Other Notes: The Mark V SMLE was manufactured between 1922 and 1924, with around 20,000 produced (serial numbers are found to range between 1 - 9,999, then repeated with an 'A' prefix). Whilst considered more than a trials model, the MK.V was a limited production rifle, which never saw general British issue
