for 1847-48, with browned laminated 30in. barrels, the broad top-rib signed 'F.R. & W. BECKHUSON, OXFORD', the border and scroll engraved colour hardened breech-blocks with platinum plugs, London proofs, fully engraved top-tang, border, scroll and gamescene engraved colour hardened bar-action locks signed 'F.R. & W. BECKHUSON', scroll engraved dolphin-headed hammers, chequered figured walnut half-stock with blued and engraved iron furniture, brass-mounted ebony ramrod, much original finish throughout (trigger guard bow reblued), together with its maker's walnut storage case with rounded brass corners and flush folding ring handle to lid, the interior lined and compartmented in green baize, original parchment trade-label inside lid and complete with a number of accessories including a powder and shot-flask, a Beckhuson branded cap-tin, a take-down ebony cleaning rod and sundry other accessories (lock escutcheon and key absent)
