A 12-BORE WESTLEY RICHARDS 1897 PATENT DETACHABLE-LOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 2659,
for 1936, 29 1/2in. nitro reproved Krupp-steel barrels with raised matt rib engraved 'AUG. LUNEBURG, KIEL', fine acanthus scroll engraving at the breech ends and with bands inscribed with Krupp details, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, arched treble-grip action with stepped serpentine fences and side-clips, chequered detonating and toplever, manual safety, incorporating J. Deeley and L.B. Taylor patent hand-detachable locks, patent no. 17731 of 28th July 1897, use number 253, detachable floorplate, horn triggerguard, the fences finely engraved with acanthus scrollwork, the action with dramatic woodland scenes of hound and badger on the left and a confrontation between a roe buck and hound on the right, the floorplate with a siege of cranes, the whole with gold line bordering, 14in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, shaped horn pistolgrip-cap, sling swivels and horn buttplate, weight 6lb. 12oz.
