circa 1880, with blued ovoid 2 3/8in. barrel, the flat sighting plane with applied nickel fore-sight and signed 'W. GRIFFITHS, MANCHESTER', the top-strap with central sighting groove bisecting the legend 'THE BRITISH BULL DOG', plain five-shot cylinder, solid frame with make, calibre and model on the left side, double-action mechanism and chequered walnut birdshead grips, traces of finish and in a later plastic carry-case
