circa 1875, 30 1/8in. nitro reproved bold damascus barrels, the rib re-engraved 'THOMAS TURNER & SONS. MARKET PLACE. READING', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored true cyl. in both, right wall at 19+, carved percussion fences, rebounding back-action locks, border and acanthus scroll engraving, the lockplates signed 'THOMAS TURNER & SONS READING', 14 1/4in. well-figured stock with steel buttplate, the fore-end with William Spinks Riley patent release, patent no. 1825 of 17th June 1872, the lever with scroll engraving and marked with patent use number 592, weight 6lb. 14oz.
