circa 1850, with round tapering twist-steel rebrowned 8in. barrel, applied fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the engraved tang, breech-block with moulded snail, borderline and scroll engraved lock with hump-back and dipped tail and signed around the base of the hammer 'J.B. RONGE FILS A LIEGE', walnut half-stock with fluted grip fitted with a shaped and engraved iron butt-cap with central lanyard ring, spurred trigger guard, plain trigger and moulded and engraved iron fore-end cap with central brass-tipped iron ramrod
