29in. nitro reproved barrels, short sight ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2', ramped bead fore-sights, side-ribs, over barrels engraved 'JAMES WOODWARD & SONS. 64, ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON.' (refreshed), 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke (No.1) and true cyl. and imp. cyl. choke (No.2), bore dimensions marginal, No.1 under barrel at 18, actions incorporating Woodward, Evershed and Hill patents 4986 and 9562 of 27th February 1913, No.1 with wear to cocking rod housing, hold-open toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, carved fences, side bolsters, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, Woodward patent non-selective single triggers, best fine bouquet and scroll engraving, the undersides engraved 'WOODWARD PATENT UNDER & OVER' and the triggerguards with 'WOODWARD'S PATENT SINGLE TRIGGER', brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14 7/8in. figured stocks with steel heel and toe plates, bolstered fore-end woods (No.2 repaired), weight 6lb. 5oz., in their brass-cornered oak and leather case

Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this pair of shotguns were completed August 1928 with 29in. barrels for Charles Leslie-Fox.
