A GOOD 40-BORE/140-BORE PERCUSSION COMBINATION DOUBLE-BARRELLED CAPE-GUN, no visible serial number,
circa 1860, with browned iron 29 1/2in. barrels, the broad flat top-rib signed 'CARL DELP IN DARMSTADT', dove-tailed bead fore-sight, rear-sight comprising of three flush-folding leaves, borderline and scroll engraved breech-end and top-tang, the latter inhabited by mythical beasts, en-suite unsigned locks, border and scroll engraved hammers, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, raised cheek-piece, sliding wood-lidded patch-box to right side of butt, scroll and borderline engraved heel-plate, set-trigger for the right hand rifle barrel, the left with plain, border-line and scroll engraved trigger-guard bow with raised scrolled pistol-grip tang, brass tipped iron ramrod, traces of colour throughout
