for between 1848 and 1864, with damascus 30in. barrels, the top-ribs signed 'JAMES BEATTIE 205 REGENT STREET LONDON' and numbered respectively '1' & '2' of a pair, bead fore-sights, scroll engraving and twin gold lines to the rib-end at breech, platinum plugs, fully scroll engraved top-tangs, carved fences, border and scroll engraved bar-action locks signed 'JAMES BEATTIE', scroll engraved carved hammers, chequered walnut half-stocks, scroll engraved and blued iron furniture, the heel-plates numbered for the pair on the top-spurs and original nickel mounted ramrod, both guns with a strong amount of original finish
