MERRETT', slightly raised hammer platform, carved and engraved hammer, chequered walnut half-stock with hallmarked silver shield-shaped escutcheon at wrist, blued furniture except twin silver oval barrel key escutcheons and horn fore-end tip, no provision for ramrod
Other Notes: J.D. Merrett of Newport reconstructed a number of muzzle-loading arms from antique parts, this being his seventeenth. All were re-signed by him and finished to an extremely high standard. It requires a Section 2 Shotgun Licence to possess within the UK.
