A RARE BOXED .455 DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'NEW-SERVICE', serial no. 66377,
for 1914, with 5 1/2in. barrel signed on two lines and with patent dates to 1905, the left side of barrel marked 'NEW SERVICE 455 ELEY', blued solid frame with swing-out fluted cylinder, the sideplate marked with the Colt Stallion trademark, chequered hard rubber grips embossed with the word 'COLT' at head and plugged aperture for a lanyard swivel at heel, retaining the majority of its factory blued finish with surface speckling, together with its rare manufacturer's card carton with blue end label marked 'COLT'S NEW SERVICE D.A. REVOLVER, REG. U.S. PAT. OFF., RUBBER BLUE 5 1/2 .455' (some taped repairs inside lid, internal labels undamaged)
