30 1/4in. black powder only damascus barrels (pitted, with rivels and dents), the rib engraved 'J.V. NEEDHAM. 27 CANNON ST. NEW ST. BIRMINGHM' (sic), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, Needham patent action, patent no. 1544 of 22nd May 1862, forward facing sidelever simultaneously operating external cams to half cock the hammers whilst the internal spindle pushes back the pins as it rotates, non-rebounding floating back-action locks with carved hammers with spurs of hare's-ear form, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed finish, 14 1/4in. pistolgrip stock including steel buttplate, weight 6lb. 3oz.
