A RARE .177 BARREL-COCKING AIR-PISTOL, MODEL 'MKI WITH ETCHED PATENTS', serial no. 17218,
circa 1926, with blued 7 1/8in. rifled barrel, sliding locking catch, blade fore-sight and adjustable notch rear-sight, blued stepped air-chamber marked 'WEBLEY AIR-PISTOL MARK I' and 'WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD BIRMINGHAM & LONDON' on the left hand side and etched with 'PATENTS GRANTED' and eleven lines of patents on the right (browned but quite legible) along with a stamping 'BRITISH PATENT 219872', rotating safety catch, trigger adjuster to front of guard and smooth wood grips, the left inlet with a Webley 'winged bullet' medallion, the whole retaining much original finish
