circa 1858, with octagonal 3 3/4in. barrel, dove-tailed pillar fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to rear of top-strap, the top-strap and barrel flat signed 'THOS. WILLIAMS SOUTH CASTLE ST. LIVERPOOL', borderline and scroll engraved solid frame, plain five-shot cylinder with rope-carved band to leading edge, spurred hammer, guarded trigger, semi saw-handled chequered walnut grip and side-mounted 'TRANTER'S PATENT' rammer, slight traces of finish and complete with a period English market case relined and compartmented in green baize, together with a number of period accessories
