circa 1933, 28 1/8in. nitro reproved barrels (in 1990, some pits), rib engraved 'MORTIMER & SON. 86 GEORGE STREET. EDINBURGH', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 3/4 choke, fences carved with grape and vine motifs set against a matt background, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, acanthus scroll engraving surrounding vignettes of hounds on point, the underside with a nye of partridge, the triggerguard with a brace of pheasant, 14 3/4in. figured stock with chequered recessed side panels (minor repair to toe), weight 6lb. 8oz., in a canvas and leather guncase with John Dickson trade label
