early type with flush dove-tailed vertical seam, top and bottom copper bands and copper folding 'D'-ring handle circa 1820, approximately 8 1/2in. in diameter and 7in. high with applied tinned central hatch-rim covered with a lift-off copper hatch signed 'WALKER PATENTEE', the interior containing a radius of six black japanned and specially shaped, curved tins arranged around a central cylindrical blackened tin, all with brass caps, the central hatch aperture sealed with a copper plate with small ringed handle and a further turned mahogany cap with felt edging
