A GOOD CASED .32 (RIMFIRE) SEVEN-SHOT TRANTER'S PATENT REVOLVER RETAILED BY JOHN BLISSETT, serial no. 2395,
circa 1870, with blued octagonal 3 1/2in. barrel signed 'JOHN BLISSETT HIGH HOLBORN LONDON', engraved band at muzzle, crescent fore-sight, blued borderline-engraved solid frame marked 'W. TRANTER'S PATENT' on left side of barrel throat, push-button safe to the left side top of sideplate, colour hardened cylinder, polished hammer and spur trigger, finely chequered walnut grip and colour hardened domed butt-cap, the whole retaining virtually all its original blue finish and a strong amount of faded colour where appropriate, in a burr walnut veneered English market case lined and compartmented in blue baize, complete with turn-screw and cleaning rod
