for 1973, 28in. nitro chopperlump barrels, the ribs engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2' within circular cartouches with finely matted backgrounds, removable striker discs, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, cocking-indicators, triggers set for the left hand and the No.2 gun firing in reverse order (front trigger left barrel, rear trigger right barrel), acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining much original colour-hardening and finish, 14 7/8in. highly-figured stocks (slightly cast on for the left shoulder), weight 6lb. 11oz., in their individual lightweight leather motor cases with some original accessories
