A PATTERN 1897 EDWARD VII INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD FOR THE HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT, early 20th Century, with 32 1/2 in. fullered and etched with scroll-work on each side, with king's crown and royal standard with Hampshire regiment coat-of-arms and '2nd Bn THE HAMPSHIRE REGt.' banner below, and royal cypher and 'E. A. C. 'over, ricasso with 'ROBt. MOLE & SONS / MAKERS / BIRMINGHAM' and proof plug over, hilt with nickelled guard with royal cypher, wire-bound fish-skin grip and leather sword knot, together with its brown leather field scabbard, scabbard with grazing and folded above the drag, vendor advises that this is a family piece and named to Lt E. A. Carver
