for 1870 and first year of manufacture, with blued round 8in. barrel, raised sighting rib signed 'SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD MASS' and patent dates to August 24th 1869, applied nickel crescent fore-sight, lift up back-sight barrel release combined, automatic ejecting fluted six shot cylinder, long ejector housing drilled with vent-hole, blued frame, smooth walnut grips and colour hardened trigger-guard bow (faded), the whole retaining a good amount of original finish with some light knocks and scratches
