A SCARCE .44 (RUSSIAN) SMITH & WESSON 'FIRST MODEL RUSSIAN' REVOLVER, serial no. 24145,
manufactured circa 1873, with 8in. barrel, maker's signature to the top-rib with patent dates to 1869 and 'RUSSIAN MODEL', pinned blade fore-sight, fixed rear-sight, break-open frame with fluted cylinder and automatic ejection, colour hardened hammer, square-heeled smooth walnut grips, heel threaded for lanyard ring (absent) and additionally drilled along with the back-strap for a detachable shoulder-stock (absent), minimal amount of finish remaining with some mild pitting, together with a certificate of proof
