for 1867, with well rebrowned 28in. damascus barrels rifled with Whitworth eight-groove rifling, detachable bead fore-sight, shallow standing notch rear-sight with four flush-folding additional blades, each with platinum line, flat broad top-rib marked in order from beech-end 'PATENT', WESTLEY RICHARDS', 170 NEW BOND ST. LONDON' and 'WHITWORTH PATENT', single dolls-head bite, scroll engraved brushed bright snap action with top-lever marked 'WESTLEY RICHARDS PATENT', brushed bright bar-action locks signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS' and with borderline and scroll engraving, bolted safes forwards of the slab-sided hammers, chequered pistol-grip butt with raised cheek-piece, chequered splinter fore-end with 'crab-claw' joint, reblued and engraved iron furniture and eyelets and button for a sling
