circa 1780, almost certainly James Barbar, with half round, half octagonal 12in. barrel signed 'LONDON' on the top-flat, flaring muzzle with moulded band, triangular form bayonet to top of barrel released via a catch on the tang, border engraved brass lockplate with stepped and pointed tail and signed 'BARBAR' below the pan, swan-necked cock, the frizzen with oversized roller, walnut handrail full-stock (cracked through at wrist and repaired, fore-end with further cracks) and engraved brass furniture
