A 12-BORE 1865 PATENT ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, no visible serial number,
29 1/2in. sleeved nitro barrels, rib re-engraved 'BURNAND. PILGRIM ST. NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, action incorporating E.C. Hodges patent extractor mechanism, patent no. 3133 of 4th December 1865, Jones patent rotary-underlever, carved percussion fences, and standing breech, rebounding sidelocks with carved faceted hammers, action flat signed 'JOSEPH BRAZIER ASHES', fine acanthus scroll engraving with beaded and feathered bordering, brushed bright finish overall, 14 5/8in. figured stock (cracked and repaired at hand) including steel buttplate, weight 7lb. 2oz., in its re-lined brass-cornered oak and leather case
