30in. black powder only barrels with matt rib, tubes engraved in fine script 'J. NOWOTNY A PRAGUE', 2 1/2in. chambers, straight multi-groove rifling, treble-grip action with carved percussion fences, rebounding sidelocks with finely engraved dolphin hammers, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, the lockplates inlaid in gold 'J. NOWOTNY V PRAZE' on the left and 'J. NOWOTNY IN PRAG' on the right, retaining traces of colour-hardening, 14in. highly-figured stock with Prince of Wales pistolgrip, cheekpiece, sling swivels, horn pistolgrip-cap and buttplate, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release catch and sculpted horn finial, weight 7lb.
