28in. black powder only round barrel with Henry patent rifling, block-mounted open sights with folding leaf sight for 200 yards with gold sighting line, block-mounted bead fore-sight, barrel engraved 'ALEXr. HENRY, MAKERS TO HER MAJESTY. EDINBURGH AND LONDON.', action with blank circular panel, non-rebounding cranked back-action lock with bolted dolphin hammer, action and furniture with fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining some original colour-hardening, 14 1/2in. highly-figured pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip-cap and engraved steel heel and toe plates, bolstered fore-end with Rigby patent fore-end release lever, weight 7lb. 2oz., in its brass-cornered leather case

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed on 6th July, 1903 for the National Rifle Association as a prize for a Bisley shooting competition. The competition was won by C.F. Broadwood
