original 30in. nitro reproved damascus barrels, rib inscription worn, wall thicknesses well below recommended minimum, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both;
extra 28in. nitro chopperlump barrels, the rib engraved 'FLLI. TOSCHI LUGO - NEW BARRELS FOR HAMMER GUN BY JOHN DICKSON & SON No. 3309.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in both,
carved percussion fences, the action flats marked with Purdey's patent bolt details, patent No. 1104 of 1863, use number 4527, rebounding sidelocks, border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed and reblued finish, 14 1/4in. figured stock including buttplate, weight 6lb. 8oz. (original) 6lb. 6oz. (extra barrels), in a vinyl case with provision for both sets of barrels

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was competed on 5th April 1875 for John Ogilvie Esq. The records also show that he paid on the same day.
