circa 1895, 26in. nitro reproved (in 2021) lined octagonal barrel with file cut top flat, open sights with two folding leaf sights, white metal inlaid sight lines and marked '50', '100' and '150', bead fore-sight, the muzzle threaded for a sound moderator with protector cap, the breech end mounted with a telescopic sight, engraved '47531. BRITISH MADE. W. OTTWAY & CO. LTD. EALING. LONDON.', in quickly-detachable mounts, the barrel previously tapped for mounts and plugged, the right side engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98. NEW BOND ST. LONDON.', the left side original calibre designation removed and new engraving '.22L', non-selective ejector, carved teardrop fences, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, beaded border and scroll engraving with 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND' in scrolling banners to the sides, some reblued finish, 14 3/4in. pistolgrip stock with steel pistolgrip-cap and buttplate, weight 5lb. 11oz. (unscoped) and 6lb. 11oz. (with scope)
