Product Details
A SCARCE .177 BSA 'CENTENARY AIRSPORTER 1 OF 1000' AIR-RIFLE, serial no. C0154,
made to celebrate the 100th anniversary of BSA in 1982, with blued 19 1/2in. barrel, ramp fore-sight with tunnel protector, micro-adjustable rear-sight, tap-action loading, the air-chamber marked 'BSA PILED ARMS CENTENARY ONE OF ONE THOUSAND', special edition chequered walnut three-quarter stock with raised comb and cheek-piece, pistol-grip capped with special 'BSA piled arms' cover, ventilated rubber recoil pad, rosewood schnabel fore-end tip, the whole appearing to have seen minimal use and together with its original issue 'BSA' 4x40 telescopic sight and mount, its original limited edition leather sling and vinyl gunbag and the issued target holder
Provenance: BSA's original intention was to produce 500 of these 'Piled Arms Centenary' air-rifles in each calibre, .177 & .22, making 1000 guns in total. In practice, demand for the .22 version far outstripped the demand for the .177, causing BSA to rebarrel some of the .177 issues to the more popular .22, meaning that only around 300 rifles were sold in .177
