circa 1860, with 31in. Birmingham proofed barrel with oval bore rifling, stamped at breech 'LANCASTER'S PATENT', fitted with Pattern 1856 style bayonet lug at muzzle, barleycorn front-sight and reversed pattern ladder rear-sight, foliate engraved lock and hammer, regulation iron mounted full walnut stock, with chequered wrist and fore-end, the trigger-guard and the butt-cap tang foliate engraved to match the lock, complete with sling swivels and loading rod
