GOLDEN 16-BORE (CROSSOVER) SCOTT & BAKER 1878 PATENT BACK-ACTION SIDELOCK NON-EJECTOR, no visible serial number, circa 1880, 30in. nitro reproved damascus barrels (in 1968, loose), the rib engraved 'Wm. GOLDEN. 7 CROSS CHURCH STREET. HUDDERSFIELD.' and '2', with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/2 choke, W. & M. Scott and T. Baker patent barrel-cocking hammerless action, patent no. 761 of 1878, us no. 2264 incorporating, Scott patent gas check system, patent no. 617 of 1882, use number 2220, Scott patent crystal cocking indicators, patent no. 3223 of 1875, each with 'Patent Crystal Indicator' engraved in gothic script to the undersides of the windows, Needham & Hinton patent intercepting sears, patent no. 706 of 1879, W.&.C. Scot patent automatic block safety, action bar engraved 'PATENT BLOCK-SAFETY HAMMERLESS.', toplever engraved patent, automatic safety with engraved 'SAFE' detail, fine acanthus scroll engraving, bright and reblued finish overall, 14in. figured stock (crossover right shoulder to left eye), including buttplate, the fore-end with W. Scott 1873 patent 'key' release catch patent no. 3756, weight 5lb. 14oz.
