dated 1887, with 32 1/2in. sighted and proof-marked barrel, falling-block action with slab-sided receiver marked 'S . X' (strengthened extractor) on bridge, right side marked with Queen's Crown over 'V . R / B.S.A & M.Co. / 1887 / III / I', with crown over Broad Arrow and 'V Gt / B'HAM' ownership mark, full walnut stock, butt with Birmingham and Victorian Government roundels, complete with cleaning rod, parts with inspection and WD ownership marks, heavy service wear to stock with forend losses to the sides of the cleaning rod channel
