A RARE CASED 60-BORE REPEATING GIRANDONI-SYSTEM STOCK-RESERVOIR PNEUMATIC SPORTING AIRGUN,
circa 1810, with browned tapering octagonal multi-groove rifled 31in. barrel, the top-flat near breech signed in gilt 'FISHER, LONDON', dove-tailed white metal fore-sight, blued standing notch rear-sight with twin folding aperture blades to the moulded breech, manually sliding sprung-brass ball carrier and side-mounted tubular magazine, border engraved lockplate with scroll engraved detail and fitted with a cocking piece of flintlock form, the brass action cover engraved with borderlines and a central martial form trophy also incorporating a stand of flags all around a vacant oval panel, the iron sideplate also engraved with borderlines and scrolled details around a central trophy, sliding safe button to lower central area of sideplate, single set trigger, leather covered stock reservoirs of Girandoni form and moulded half-length fore-stock with white metal nose-cap, engraved iron mounts and under-barrel ramrod, in its probably original heavy mahogany case relined in green baize and containing a spare reservoir, pump, the body signed in script 'FISHER, GREEK ST SOHO LONDON' and sundry tools
