almost certainly converted from a pinfire gun of circa 1865, with fine damascus 30 7/8in. barrels of near 8-bore but with 10-bore chambers (Parson's own special design), the sunken top-rib signed 'WILLIAM PARSON, SWAFFHAM, NORFOLK', well engraved action body with finely engraved bar-action rebounding locks signed 'WILLIAM PARSON', engraved swing-action under-lever, chequered walnut straight-hand butt-stock with ribbed heel-plate, fully chequered snap-on splinter fore-end, much finish and strong traces of colour remaining
