circa 1907, original 28in. Whitworth steel nitro barrels with Greener 'elephant' trademark, rib engraving scrubbed, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke;
extra 28 1/2in. 'Poldi-anticorro' nitro barrels, rib engraved 'WILMART FRERES. (...) LIEGE' (worn partially illegible), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and 3/4 choke, bore measurements marginal, scroll-back treble-grip action with ropework-engraved shoulders and arcaded fences, toplever engraved '2' and gold-inlaid with a crown, manual side safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, the surround engraved with a solitary pheasant perched atop a branch, the action engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork with bands of acorn and oak leaves, interspersed with vignettes of hound flushing a covey of partridge, a spaniel flushing fowl, the underside with a lone woodcock in flight, brushed finish, 13 5/8in. stock (worn, pad removed from comb) with inlaid horn drop-points, sling swivels, buttplate, weight 7lb.
