for 1901, 26in. cordite reproved Parker Rifled relined octagonal barrel, matted top-flat, open rear sight with two folding leaf sights marked for '50', '100' and '150' yards and with white metal inlaid sight lines, dove-tailed bead fore-sight, the adjacent flats engraved 'J. MACNAUGHTON. EDINBURGH.', central rebounding hammer, sidelever opening, border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of original blued finish, 14 1/4in. figured pistolgrip stock (cracked at hand), with horn pistolgrip-cap, including horn buttplate, Hackett-type snap-on splinter fore-end with horn finial, weight 5lb. 2oz.
