Belgian, last quarter of the 19th century and probably a licenced copy of the Winchester Repeating Arms rifle of the same model, with blued round 20in. barrel signed 'HENRY WINCHESTER RIFLE MODEL 1873', fore-sight blade integral with the front barrel-band, dove-tailed rear-sight, slab-sided receiver with internal rail dust-cover with chequered oval thumb-panel, external hammer, walnut butt-stock with carbine style heel-plate, straight hand finger-lever with shaped trigger blade, brass cartridge lifter without calibre designation, walnut fore-end with further barrel-band and full-length under-barrel magazine
