Product Details
A RARE .20 SHERIDAN 'MODEL A' SUPERGRADE MULTI-PUMP PNEUMATIC AIR-RIFLE, serial no. 01489,
circa 1948, with exposed blued 20in. barrel, cast aluminium receiver with bolt-action breech, top-tang safe, blacked pump-housing below the barrel, walnut butt-stock with raised cheek-piece and beavertail walnut fore-arm, requires seals
Provenance: Sheridan's first model air-rifle, the Model 'A' was introduced in 1947. Sadly, its extraordinary build quality necessitated a retail price of $56.50 and consequently very few were sold (around 2130). The Model 'B' that followed it was even less successful, with only 1052 produced. It was not until the introduction of the now famous Model 'C' (or 'Bluestreak') in 1949 that sales finally took off, probably due to the new rifle's retail price being around half that of the Model 'A'
