one of only two fully engraved JW70 models produced circa 2000 with blued, shrouded 21 3/4in. barrel deeply engraved with knurled bands and open American style scrollwork, fully scroll engraved side-lever receiver, scroll engraved double air-chamber with central panel signed 'WHISCOMBE JW70 MKII, SERIAL NO. 019 MADE IN ENGLAND', highly figured right hand walnut thumb-hole half-stock with stippled grip-panels, adjustable comb and rubber recoil-pad, concealed flush-fitting scroll engraved under-lever, the whole appearing very little used and fitted with a leather sling in 'Q/D swivels and a 4x32 telescopic sight in en-suite engraved mounts, in a padded bag
Provenance: Whiscombe's unique twin-piston air-rifles have often been refered to as the Rolls-Royce of air-rifles. Sadly, John Whiscombe died at the end of 2019, meaning that these engineering marvels are no longer produced. This is one of only two JW70 models that were engraved at time of manufacture. The engraver was Don Blocksidge.
