PATENT SMOOTH BORE BREECH LOADING RIFLE', thumbhole underlever of Purdey 1863 (second pattern) style, carved fences, striker discs, non-rebounding back-action locks with high-spurred bolted hammers of hare's-ear style, the breasts of the hammers striking the firing pins, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, the action bar with 'CHARLES LANCASTER'S PATENT', the lockplates with scrolling banners engraved 'C.
