circa 1860, with blued octagonal 6in. barrel engraved with scrolls at breech, borderlined to the flats and a band at muzzle, the top-strap signed 'DEANE & SON, KING WILLIAM STREET, LONDON BRIDGE' within a border engraved panel, two-piece borderline and scroll engraved blued frame, plain blued cylinder with engraved band to leading edge and broken engraved band to rear, double action mechanism, chequered walnut one-piece saw-handled grip, engraved domed iron butt-cap, guarded trigger and hinged under-barrel rammer, the pistol retaining much of an older London reblue and together with its maker's oak storage case lined and compartmented in green baize and complete with a mould, reproduction flask, cap-tin and nipple-key
