A .577 (SNIDER) THREE-BAND COMMERCIAL MK3 VOLUNTEER RIFLE SUPPLIED BY THE LONDON ARMOURY Co., no visible serial number,
dated for 1862, with 36 1/2in. blued barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, MKIII breech with sprung thumb-catch and marked 'SNIDER'S PATENT', plain lock with date over 'L.A.C. Co' forwards of the hammer and 'V.R.' crown device at tail, walnut full-stock with amateur shallow stippled panels to the left side of wrist and underside of fore-end, brass furniture except three blued iron barrel-bands and jag-ended clearing rod
