for 1914, with round 20in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, the top of barrel signed 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN CONN USA, PATENTED AUGUST 14 1894' offset to the left, plain slab-sided receiver with saddle-ring (mostly cleaned of finish), top-tang marked 'MODEL 1894, WINCHESTER, TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN.' on three lines, walnut butt-stock with iron carbine heel-plate (repaired hairline crack to left side at head), plain walnut fore-end with barrel-band, full length under barrel magazine and separate nose band
